Hot Steak Schwarma with Blue Cheese Dressing, Watercress & Onions

A schwarma is a Middle Eastern dish of meat served on Pitta. Our take on this includes a blue cheese yoghurt dressing.

Ingredients

75g FAGE Total 0%

2 tsp sunflower oil

1 red onion, thinly sliced

½ tsp peppercorns, roughly crushed

225g thick cut lean rump steak

Juice ½ lemon

50g Stilton, crumbled

2 large wraps or khobez wraps, to serve

Watercress, to serve

2 handfuls, cherry tomatoes, halved, to serve

    Steps
  1. Heat half of the oil in a large frying pan, add the onions and cook for 10-15 minutes until caramelised. Set aside and wipe the pan clean. Rub peppercorns into the steak. Heat the remaining oil in the frying pan, add steak and cook for 2-3 minutes per side or until cooked to your liking. Transfer to a warm plate, cover with foil and leave for 5 minutes before slicing thinly.
  2. Mix the FAGE Total 0% yoghurt, lemon and Stilton until quite smooth. Warm the wraps and fill with watercress and tomatoes, scatter with onions and the steak, then spoon over the dressing. Roll up and serve.
